The clock is ticking for White Hart Lane as we know it. In 2008, the club has announced plans to improve its stadium situation by building a new arena. At this time, it's planned to stay in the area and to use property a little east of the current ground. So in a few years, another one of London's classic football grounds - White Hart Lane - will be gone forever.
Once again, capacity is the problem. White Hart Lane only holds 35.000 people, too little for the Spurs. The stadium itself is not new, but it would definately do it for a few more years. It's very compact, all corners are closed and the seats are close to the pitch. The only problem are the two pillars that support the roof of the East Stand and restrict the view a little. Still, White Hart Lane is a great football stadium and it'S a pitty that it will be replaced by a new arena. |
